Eat Good Food
Eating well is important for maintaining a balance between your physical and spiritual bodies. What you eat affects your energy, thoughts, and emotions, so it’s important to make sure that what you consume is pure and healthy.
Processed foods are neither pure nor healthy, so avoid eating too much of these along with pre-packaged meals. Eating foods rich in iodine such as shrimp, lobster, cabbage, and bananas can help support the third eye. Antioxidants like raw cocoa and apple cider vinegar can also help remove harmful toxins and keep your body clean and healthy.
Many herbs are known to stimulate the pituitary gland, so incorporating them into your diet can help open your third eye. Parsley is one that can easily be added to your meals. Herbal teas such as basil and balm of Gilead are also great for this chakra. Don’t forget to drink plenty of water, as it’s the most effective antioxidant in the environment.
Nourish Yourself with Sunlight
The sun is a source of power and energy for all seven chakras, but particularly supports the third eye. Direct gazing at the sun is not a good idea, but the light that reflects off the retina is known to activate the pineal gland. So, put aside your sunglasses when outside and enjoy the sun. Indirect exposure to sunlight is as necessary for your third eye as it is for your two “normal” eyes.
Get a daily dose of natural light to speed up the awakening of your third eye. Start the day by taking a walk in the early morning hours or sit in the park in the afternoon for some meditation to get sunlight, make it a regular part of your routine.

Reciting a mantra is different from affirmations as mantras contain powerful spiritual energy in just one word or sound. OM is the seed sound of the third eye, so try repeating it during meditation or even just while breathing in a quiet moment of solitude.
Avoid Fluoride
Fluoride contributes to the calcification of the pineal gland, which can impair its functioning. Therefore, it is best to avoid products that contain this chemical in large quantities.
Tap water and toothpaste are common sources of fluoride, so you will want to limit your exposure to these. While avoiding them can be difficult, adding quality filters to your tap can help limit your exposure. There are also dental products available, including herbal alternatives, that do not contain fluoride.
